Why are security systems important?
A security system and the security technology it contains comprises all the devices and systems that serve to secure a property and is an important part of many companies and authorities. Nevertheless, many do not think about renewing or modernizing them or planning them cost-effectively.
DS DATA SYSTEMS has been the expert for information security, IT/OT security, data protection and security systems for over 30 years. For medium-sized businesses to international corporations – regardless of industry – as well as for the federal and state governments.
The use of security systems serves to protect your building and the processes that take place in it from unauthorized access and to transport important and necessary information to the right people.
The installed safety technology is used in a wide variety of industries, such as
- in the healthcare sector
- with offices and authorities
- in industrial companies
- in the event industry
- on construction sites

Intrusion alarm system
Intruder alarm systems are security systems that are used to detect and report intrusions into a building or area. Intruder alarm systems are available in various types and designs. These include systems with mechanical contacts, motion detectors or glass break detectors.
These systems can either be connected to an alarm system or a monitoring system so that an immediate notification is sent to the police or appropriate security services in the event of a break-in.
Our security consultants can also combine your intruder alarm systems with other security technologies such as video surveillance systems and access control systems to ensure more comprehensive security.
Fire alarm and evacuation system
The protection of personal integrity and the protection of life and limb is of particular interest! Fire alarm systems are safety systems that are used to detect fires in a building or area at an early stage and trigger an alarm.
There are different types of fire alarm systems that use, for example, smoke detectors, heat detectors or carbon monoxide detectors. These systems are usually connected to a fire alarm control panel, which sends immediate notifications to the fire department and other emergency services when a fire is detected.
Evacuation systems are safety systems that are used to evacuate people in danger quickly and safely from a building or area. There are different types of evacuation systems, such as the use of emergency lighting, evacuation maps and escape routes. These systems are usually linked to fire alarm systems and other safety technologies to ensure a quick and safe evacuation.
It is important to note that both types of systems are important and mandatory in certain buildings, such as public buildings, buildings with many people or sources of danger. In addition, the use of fire alarm systems can lead to a reduction in building insurance premiums. Regular maintenance and inspection of fire alarm systems and evacuation systems is essential to ensure that they function properly in an emergency.
Since 2017, we have been a VdS-certified “specialist company for fire alarm systems” in accordance with DIN 14675 for phase 6.1 planning and phase 6.2 project planning.
DIN 14675 specifies the requirements for the installation and operation of fire detection and fire alarm systems in and on buildings, taking into account building regulations and fire brigade-specific requirements.
Video surveillance system
Video surveillance systems are used to record and monitor images and videos of specific areas of a building or environment. These systems can use either analog cameras or digital IP cameras and can be displayed either on a monitor or in a monitoring center.
Video surveillance systems are used to prevent or detect burglary, theft, vandalism or other criminal activity. They help to increase the safety of people in a building or environment by detecting potential threats and speeding up the response of security personnel or emergency services.
Video surveillance systems are subject to strict data protection regulations. In addition, there are specifications as to how and where they may be installed and where the collected data may be stored and processed. Regular inspection of the cameras and recording devices is essential to ensure proper functionality, especially in an emergency.
Access authorization system
Access authorization systems, also known as access control systems, are security systems that are used to control and monitor access to certain areas of a building or environment. Access authorization systems are available in various types and designs. These include systems with keys, codes, card readers and biometric procedures.
Access authorization systems allow companies and organizations to control and technically restrict access to sensitive areas by authorizing certain people and keeping others out. They can also be used to log and monitor access to buildings and premises to detect and prevent potential security issues or breaches.
We support you in the planning and implementation of a wide range of access authorization systems. These include, for example, stand-alone systems that monitor just one door or area and network systems that can monitor and manage multiple doors and areas. It is important to regularly maintain and update the systems to ensure that they function properly and meet the latest security standards.
Escape and rescue route technology
Escape and rescue route technology includes all measures and technologies that help to ensure that people in a building or area can be evacuated quickly and safely in the event of an emergency. This includes electronic door openers, illuminated signs as escape route markings, emergency lighting, escape route markings, fire doors and escape ladders.
These technologies must be regularly checked and maintained to ensure proper functionality. In the event of an emergency, emergency procedures should be continuously tested and all persons in the organization should be prepared and sensitized in regular evacuation drills.
IT systems
IT systems and security systems are now closely interlinked subject areas. Accordingly, we have a team that deals exclusively with the planning and consulting of IT systems on a daily basis.
We are experts in the analysis, design and documentation (CAD drawing work) of IT systems and are also responsible for the project management of major projects. This enables us to offer our customers an all-round carefree package.
